Despite what many pet owners may believe, “dog breath” is not just a nuisance – it’s a sign of an unhealthy mouth. Bad breath is caused by bacteria. Over time, bacteria leads to plaque and tartar buildup on your pet’s teeth. The result is bad breath, reddened gums, and other common signs of dental disease.

My cat needed to be seen and POOF! there we were. Even during these craziest of times - in and out! Masks, gloves, pick-up and drop-off. The hard part is not being able to stay with my very senior kit

One of the most compassionate pet hospitals I've ever encountered. As other reviewers have mentioned, I appreciate how this clinic caters to only cats. The staff seem to be very in-tune with felines and I'd argue that they may be something of a "cat whisperer." I'd bring my cat in and he would be so at ease in their care. He's not the best in new environments but always seemed to consider Chico Hospital for Cats as a second home of sorts. The clinic is large and very clean. It's decorated nicely and parking is always available in back though the lot is on the smaller side. It's on the outskirts of town but on a busy corner so is easy to spot. I had made a move from Chico to Santa Barbara and was more than a little terrified about transporting my cat those 500 miles. When I went to this clinic, the staff made the transition process so easy. They provided me with the necessary paperwork to give to the new veterinarian, and they also gave me a few complimentary wipes to rub on his kennel which would act as a sedative. Sure enough, the wipes did their job as he was calm nearly the entire trip. Such a good boy. I'm grateful to have had Chico Hospital for Cats provide wonderful care for my kitty. Highly recommended if you're in search of a quality, caring clinic.
